GLOBAL WARMING

Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, {2} that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. {3} Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, {4} who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 nas

Environmentalists have been sounding the alarm for some time about the coming catastrophic consequences of "greenhouse gases" and the like. And anyone who has spent a stagnant winter’s day in Phoenix or Los Angeles, can see from the thick layer of smog, that there is truth to what they are saying. The problem is, our little planet may not last long enough to see their "Pandora’s Box" pageant played out – because of a far worse threat – global terrorists! With the rise and invasion of certain hostile religions into our country and others around the world, the warning of our text is becoming more of a reality.

Read our text again. The rapture can’t take place until the "son of destruction" is in a world power position. The wimpy will cave into this mad religion (apostasy) as these terrorists infiltrate governments around the world. Although this is not a "rosy" subject, the wise believer knows that we must increase our missionary efforts to these angry, dedicated haters of good, the whole time we brandish and exercise our spiritual weapons, and seek to overcome evil with good! We rest with confidence, not that our actions will gain us 72 virgins in the afterlife, but that we shall see the King, our Heavenly Father, enjoy eternity with Him, and that the destroyer and his accomplices will be thrown into the lake of fire! The God of Justice will reward the faithful and punish the wicked! And the wise will not be caught off-guard!
