History of Spear Ministries........

Growing up in a Christian home, I had the advantage of regular Bible study, but living in a less than perfect world, I was continually being pulled down. My experience was "roller coaster" Christianity! God called me into the ministry during my third year studying Forestry at Northern Arizona University. The step of faith it took to change majors and move my little family off to Bible College triggered God’s power sufficiently to straighten out the roller coaster ride.

Through the years I have done considerable counseling and have found that most Christians struggle with the same problems. This led to putting together a couple of discipleship manuals that approach Christian maturity in a bit of a different way. We can struggle under the burden similar to what the Apostle Paul described in Romans chapter 7, without discovering the tremendous insight he learned as a result of his battle. My first study, Winning the Inner War, shares some of the practical principles I’ve learned to help straighten out the roller coaster ride!

Around 1992, I felt the Lord direct me to put together a vehicle to share this material – Spear Ministry. The Scripture He gave me was Joshua holding up his spear to signal the army to take the city of Ai. I felt the theme of my ministry was to "Hold up the spear, the Sword of the Lord, in order to take the city!" I am convinced that the Bible contains the keys to living a consistent, victorious Christian life. Sharing these simple, powerful truths is what Spear Ministries is all about.

My second discipleship workbook was designed to help crucify the brat that lurks in some of us. The Abundant Life has as its theme, "The crucified life is the doorway to the abundant life." Simple principles can help us "let go and let God!" Spiritual laws such as Sowing and Reaping, when applied, release the power of God to make the Christian life successful as well as enjoyable.

Two additional ministries that we are developing are publishing and internet counseling.
